ABOUT ME

I've lived in North Yorkshire for 28 years. Whilst bringing up my two daughters, I worked as a teacher and freelance artist until 2010 when I qualified as an Art Psychotherapist and began working part time for the NHS in Adult Eating Disorders. I also have established a private practice offering face-to-face art therapy sessions.  My areas of work include;

This is not an exhaustive list and I am very happy to talk to anyone who feels this form of therapy might be helpful for them.

After many years working as a practitioner in this field, I am convinced that this form of creative therapy has the potential to transform the lives of people who  struggle with their mental health.

ART PSYCHOTHERAPY

Art therapy is an accessible form of psychotherapy that uses art media to encourage expression and communication of difficult experiences and the attached emotions. It is a process that provides an alternative to traditional talking therapies. This creative approach does not require clients to be artistic but allows them to utilise both conscious and unconscious thought in their sessions which helps address emotions that are not yet clear or cannot be easily be put into words.
